exceptional two-channel audio for the home
Bricasti Design
World Class Digital to Analog Converters, Amplifiers & Preamps from a World Class Professional Audio company.
M1 & M1SE DAC
The M1 digital to analog converter, now with new MDx digital processing board, is a dual mono design; there are two completely isolated channels, each with its own dedicated linear power supply, D/A converter, DDS clocking, and analog circuitry. This design insures that analog cross talk is virtually non existent, that the necessary power requirements for each channel are well met and isolated from each other and the digital processing is isolated, having its own power supply. With our twin DAC design, the dynamic range for each channel is optimized by using the stereo ADI 1955 D/A converter in a mono configuration. The M1 also includes Bricasti's own proprietary filter technolgy, further opening new territory with what is achievable in a modern D/A refference.

M11 R2R DAC
New!
The brand-new M11 extends Bricasti's winning streak in creating wold-class DACs. The M11 uses the exceptional R2R section from the M21 multi-section DAC in the chassis format of the M1 Series II. This provides listeners who prefer the wonderful R2R sonic signature with all the proprietary digital technologies of the M1 series. The M11 carries on Bricasti Design’s commitment to quality with its handcrafted chassis milled from solid aluminum, three custom transformers, dual-mono designed for isolation and still-points engineered strategically into the feet for excellent vibration control.

M3 DAC
Exceptional performance and value
The M3 offers an incredible array of performance in a more affordable price class. Highlights include two fully differential conversion channels, separate conversion for PCM and native DSD, and a balanced analog level control circuit, making the M3 suitable for all applications. In addition, the M3 incorporates the latest Bricasti Design high-performance MDx processor.

The M3 utilizes two independent linear power supplies for the analog and digital processing to ensure low noise and superior isolation. A newly designed chassis made from robust CNC milled aluminum in sections insures superior thermal characteristics, excellent vibrational damping and shielding from RF.

The M3’s new Mdx digital design employs precision DDS clocking that lowers jitter to extremely low levels, insuring a pure digital signal path without the use of sample rate converters, this combined with superior digital filter design, and Native DSD conversion yields a state of the art digital audio path. The M3’s high speed low distortion analog path features a bypass-able preamp class analog level control allowing the M3 to be used to drive power amps directly, with no bit loss for optimal analog performance.

New !
The M19 is a simple CD and SACD compatible disk player. It is a transport, meaning the M19 has no D/A converter and is designed to be used with an external DAC. As such, the M19 has AES and SPDIF outputs as well as a proprietary I2S output designed to interface to the Bricasti line of DAC products. The M19 is robustly constructed of milled and CNC machined aluminum sections, no typical bent metal chassis and top cover as found on most products. All sections of the construction, the front and rear panels, the sides and even the bottom and top plates start out as solid blocks of aluminum which are precision machined to shape, with exact tolerances for a perfect fit. The front panel has a large, simple, easy to read graphic display, an encoder for changing tracks and. adjusting and selecting settings, and dedicated function buttons. There is an IR receiver built in to the left side center of the display for using the M19 remote controller.

SACD and DSD playback and the M19
When playing a SACD, the DSD playback will be transmitted as DoP and Native format via the I2S. When using the AES or SPDIF outputs, the DSD will be sent as DoP. The M19 does not employ any sample rate conversion or up-sampling of the data streams and passes the original sample rate to the DAC for conversion. The only processing done is for creating the DoP format for DSD out the AES/SPDIF outputs.
I2S Output on the M19
The M19 has a proprietary implementation of I2S. There is no “standard” for the use of I2S outside the confines of a product as its intended use is for interconnecting of PCBs inside of a product. In Bricasti's implantation, they use an RJ45 connector to mate to one of Bricasti's DACs with I2S option. This interface is intended for use with Bricasti products only and is not meant for general use with other brand DACs; the AES and SPDIF are there to support other manufacturer’s products as they are a defined standard and will work with any product that supports these standards.
